सारे परफॉर्मेंसेज़ देख कर हमको आख़िरकार वो चीज़ समझ आती है जिसके लिए नागा लोगों का यह परफॉर्मेंस होता है. परफॉर्मेंसेज़ का टॉपिक इतना सीरियस होते हुए भी सब मजाकिया तौर पर हो रहा होता है. नकली गन, नकली गोली और मारना मरना सब नकली। हालाँकि इसी परफॉर्मेंस के थ्रू ये लोग युद्ध के मैदान में होने वाले नुकसान को दिखाते हैं. यही इस परफॉर्मेंस का मकसद होता है. असल वॉर की एक पैरोडी करके ये लोग ह्यूमंस की लड़ाई वाली मानसिकता पर गहरी चोट करते हैं. बेशक इन लोगों में इस बात की समझ पर्सनल एक्सपीरियंस के बाद आयी हो, पर दर्शकों को अपनी पर्फोमन्स से इस बात पर सोचने को मजबूर करते हैं.

हमलोग कोहिमा शहर एक्स्प्लोर करते हुए हार्नबिल फेस्टिवल की तरफ बढ़ रहे थे. कलाम, लिंकन, इंस्टीन और एमिनेम — अगर कोई शहर आपको इन सब को एक ही फ़्रेम में दिखाता है, तो आपको एक बार ऐसे शहर को क़रीब से ज़रूर जानना चाहिए. हमारे पास कोहिमा में बिताने का ज्यादा समय तो नहीं था, पर दुबारा यहां आने के लिए शहर की इतनी झलक काफ़ी थी. कोहिमा से किसामा जाकर अब बारी थी नागालैंड के सबसे फ़ेमस ‘हॉर्नबिल फेस्टिवल’ अटेंड करने की. यही मौका था यहां के लोगों को और अच्छे से जानने का. जब तक हम आपसे नार्थईस्ट यात्रा की आगे की कहानी बताएं, तब तक आप आप माजुली में हमारे पहले दो दिनों की कहानी ज़रूर पढ़ लीजिए।
कोरोना के होने से पहले ही हमने क्वारंटाइन लाइफ कैसी होती है, इसका टीज़र देख लिया था. हमें तब पता नहीं था कि इसे ‘क्वारंटाइन होना’ कहेंगे। हमप्ता के बालू घेरा बेस कैंप पर पचपन घंटे बारिश में फंसने के बाद अपना झोला उठाकर वापिस मनाली के लिए निकल लिए।
“भाईजी, सामने पहाड़ की वो चोटी देख रहे हैं, वो न जाने कितनी सदियों से यहां है! पहाड़ पार करने वाले कितने लोग आते-जाते रहे हैं, पर ये पहाड़, ये चोटियां, कहीं नहीं गई हैं. ये यहीं रहे हैं,और यहीं रहेंगे. मेरी सलाह लें तो आप अगली बार फिर आना, थोड़ा जल्दी, और कामना करके आना कि उस बार मौसम कि कृपा आप पर रहे और आप हमप्ता की यात्रा पूरी कर पाएं.” — ‘सार’ के ये भारी शब्द कहते हुए चंद्रा भाई ने हमें बालू घेरा से वापस रुख़सत किया.
यहां से अपने को सामने वो पहाड़ दिख रहा था जिसके पार जाना था. मन तो था कि बिना रुके निकल लें, शाम को सीधा लाहौल, छतरू पहुंचे और वहीं रात बिताकर अगले दिन काजा से आती पहली बस में बैठकर ही मनाली पहुंच जाएंगे। पर अपने साथ दो पंटर और थे, उनको ये प्लान थोड़ा कम सूट करता। इस करके हमने यहीं रुकने का मन बना लिया और अपना टेंट यहीं रॉकी भाईजी की दूकान के करीब गाड़ दिए. अब इंतज़ार बस अगली सुबह का था, और फिर अपन लोग हमप्ता के उस पार होंगे।
बहुत से लोग, संस्थाएं और सरकार इसे बचाने की कोशिश में लगे हैं। पर, माजुली को बचाने के लिए अभी तक जितने भी प्रयास किये गए हैं, कुछ ज्यादा सफल नहीं रहे। जरुरत है कि ज्यादा से ज्यादा लोग माजुली पहुँचे और लिखकर, मूवी बनाकर या किसी भी तरीके से माजुली पर मंडराते खतरे के बारे में लोगों को बताएं। सरकार और संस्थाओं के साथ-साथ लोगों का साथ ज्यादा जरुरी है, नहीं तो माजुली नक़्शे से ही गायब हो जाएगा।
That moment to the days ahead, these mammoth structures kept moving with us, as if we were the trespassers being chased in their lands. They made it rain! They unleashed storms! And when the cold breeze was not piercing into our face, at times they summoned the sun!
